Fw: [RC] re: ride times - Dot WigginsYes, the hold times do not count against "ride time" but fewer vet checks do take less time from "ride time". No matter how quickly your horse recovers, and how soon you can get a PR check to begin a hold, those minutes do count. If you only have one check on a 50, your time will be quicker than the same 50 with 3 checks, even if you ride the same speed. And I am all in favor ofat least 2 or more vet checks for most rides. Your ride time is you does not include you hold time. Average_speed X ride_time = distance. If you ride steady at 6 mph it doesn't matter how many vet checks you have your ride time will for 50 miles will be 8:20 if you have one check two checks or three checks. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Ridecamp is a service of Endurance Net, http://www.endurance.net.
