[RC] To our vets and chiros--Neck Injury question OT - DESERTRYDR1

A friend of mine has a beautiful weanling filly, half Arabian/half Shagya,
that was injured at about a month old because an inexperienced handler tried to
break her to halter. She pulled back, maybe went over backward, I don't know
all the details. She looks like her head is set on her neck crooked, she has
a big bulge on one side right in back of the jaw. She doesn't appear to be in
any pain, but the injury will surely lessen her value, as there is some doubt
if she will be able to be ridden. She doesn't appear to stumble or have
balance problems, just the very obvious crookedness, and her neck also appears
to
be shortened.

Do you experts out there think it's too late to do something about her
problem? If she can be helped, what kinds of therapies, etc. might help? As
it
stands now, the breeder is willing to sell her at a very reasonable price, as
she
has broodmare potential, but since I also have neck problems that cause LOTS
of pain, I would be interested in seeing her fixed if possible. Thanks in
advance. Since this isn't really endurance related, please feel free to write
me
directly at desertrydr at aol.com. jeri
