[RC] Dallmer hoof boots - Brian & Sara Minsk

I just bought some Dallmer hoof boots for my barefoot horse. I haven't tried them yet as it is 10 degrees and icy here in New England. She is 5 and has been barefoot her whole life. She is turned out with others 24/7 in a large, rocky paddock and we had 1/2" stone brought in when she was born. Thus, her paddock is 1/4 gravel (near her barn doors -dutch doors). She was fine last year riding in rocky New England but I noticed that on tough gravel roads or dirt roads with stones I had to slow down considerably. Plus, I am afraid that I will wear her toes down with training. This will be our first year of competition (LD rides and some 25 mile CTR).

Has anyone tried these boots before? What were your experiences both good and bad? I find it interesting that the boots have no bottom piece. The sole is exposed. If you use these boots do you add the optional pads? Are these boots legal for ECTRA rides? Thanks!

Sara
