[RC] Oral selenium amount - Nina Vasiliev

Hello,

I live outside of Sacramento, CA. I feed my horses locally grown rye hay free choice, 2 lbs dry wt shredded beet pulp, one lb of LMF Super supp for grass hays. (LMF lists this product as having 3 ppm. I don't know if that means per lb?) 2 cups flax seed, salt, Biotin. I add oil during ride season, but right now everyone is plump. The horses have access to fresh grass during the rainy months, then as they eat it down, they will be living on 8 acres of dry lot during the dry months.

I own: 13 year old arab gelding that I enter in 3-6 rides/ year. 15.1 hands, 954 lbs
4 yr old morab mare, ridden lightly but eventually will be competed. 14.1 about 800 lbs
10 yr old morab gelding, lame with ring bone, pasture pet. 15.3 about 1100lbs

Should I add oral selenium to their mash?

Nina
