[RC] selecting for longevity in endurance competition - Ed Kilpatrick

kat,  i really liked the way you put this.  others might have tried to pick your comments apart just a bit, but i still think you put it best.
 
at the risk of oversimplifying the equation,  start your selection with a saddle type horse or mule.  train smart and ride smart.  take care of your mount.  dont get hung up on bloodlines, breed, color, size, etc.   there are lots and lots of horses out there that can do this sport and do it for a long, long time.     cowboy ed
