[RC] Horse loves pavement - Kari Hanes

Went for a nice long slow ride today. To get to my longer training loop I have to ride about 2 miles along a paved road. I've been dealing with this for a few years with my mare and I usually just walk through there. Now that we've gotten past the "I'm scared of everything" stage I would like to trot along the side of the road. My mare just seems to enjoy being on that pavement. It is a constant struggle to keep her off to the side. She's barefoot so I'm concerned about anything over a walk on that hard of a surface. She has great feet - never been shod, never had any hoof problems.

Any suggestions?
