[RC] - Nik Isahak Abdullah

Angie,I am not a horse expert .I am a plumber by proffesion,a cardilologist.USAis having winter now and i understand a pretty severe as well. The temperature an humidity in Dubai is like winter to our horses and had our boys and selectors heed my advice and gave a chance for our local horses to take part overthere without to long period of acclimatisation to the Dubai environment some of them probably could "fly" becauce their heat dissipation millieu are basically on a red alert mode for high humidity and heat. But our selectors chose to mainly use our French based horses.Theoretically we are riding Malaysian horse there we would like to fly today and ride tomorrow to not lose the advantage of the "red alert" mode in the horses. But selectors are selectors everywhere you go in the world!
From my humble point of view your problem is the direct opposite of
ours.Your horses need to be acclimatised to the more severe local condition in Dubai and 1 week probably is not adequate, I mean at the speed there are going.
One local Malaysian horse that manage to be selected,Colorado for example only manage an average 9 kph back home was able to do double the speed in Dubai until he was vetted out at the 4 th vetgate for lameness. This horse probably has never done so much cantering in his past life in so short a time.
That was why I was quite dissapoited with my Australianfriends silver.I thought with a wee bit more bravado they could have gone for gold.Believe me the Australians have the horses! They have not tampered as much as you guys in the USA did to the original tough arabians.Again I am not going to be popular!!
