[RC] Dr. Nik/Overheating - rides2far

Doc,what Steve Shaw described in the ridecamp is a probable "over
heating problem

Dr Nik,

Thank you for this insight. I am curious. I know the trucks going along
with the horses handing out waterbottles seem a bit rediculous to most of
us here, but as an obsessive sponger who *believes* that bit of water
going on constantly helps I think it can make a difference. Do you think
we were as diligent in that area as the natives? Maybe you don't know
first hand how aggressive the USA support truck was (heck, I don't even
know *if* we had one), but do you think perhaps being better at passing
the waterbottles could have helped?

I assume riders going for the individual medals each had their own truck
chasing them. Would we have only had one for the four riders traveling
together and was that another reason they needed to ride together the
whole time?

For the horse, would this be like a heat stroke? If people have a heat
stroke aren't they more likely to have another later and is it the same
for horses?

You are from a country with incredibly high humidity. Wasn't it at least
*more humid* than the American West there and could that have made Pal
more succeptable than some of the others?

Angie
