Re: [RC] Lady's Gun--Maryanne's Post - Maryanne Gabbani

Just to clear a point, I was raised with guns and have no particular problem with the items themselves as long as they are handled responsibly. Some of my neighbours own Kalashnikov's....they rent them out by the bullet to fire at weddings as the bride arrives. They don't, however, point them at people and objects. The noise drives the dogs nuts, but that's what you get with Bedouin neighbours, and it's only during wedding season. I simply don't see cluttering up my life with something that has no use to me, especially when I already have a pack of twelve dogs (admittedly most of them RT's, but quite fierce) taking care of my house at night.

You must not have kids, Dabney. A Super Soaker is an oversized water gun that can shoot a stream of water over 10+ feet. My college student daughter bought one a couple of summers ago and tried it out on her mom from the roof. Guess why it doesn't work anymore.......

Maryanne,

Here in So Cal (after many years and miles of conditioning on trail) I've been having the same reaction.

I've on occasion wished I'd remembered to bring along a cell phone, but never a gun.

So--what the hell is a Super Soaker??
