ok, and how do you teach good downhills to horses in northeast florida.  Sigh...  The biggest hill is the anthill in my back yard. That really isn't a challenge for Spot, or Alpine for that matter...they just kind of hop over it.
 
The sand around here keeps those butt muscles in good shape thank goodness, but since I don't have hills to train on, my version of helping my horse on any hill we encounter is to give him his head and stay the heck out of his way, up or down.  Oh, and I insist on slow.  That annoyes Alpine a lot.  He doesn't do anything slow by choice. But that's another matter altogether....

Alpine (I'm beginning to think that I don't ever get to have fun again... I wanna go...)
