RE: [RC] [BarefootEnduranceHorses] Boots - Dolores Arste

I wanted to let this group know that we are now carrying the Dallmer Clog in
the
US.

I've been using the Dallmer clog for awhile now. But, I must be honest to
say that
I have not done any rides in competition with them. I hope to this year.

I needed a plan to be able to train barefoot or in boots and ride barefoot
or in boots or with shoes depending
on the terrain. And, since I have never done a ride in steel shoes including
100's
Steel was not an option for me.

Since when I rode in 100's I used the Mustad Nail-Shu on all four feet, I
was looking for a boot that
I could use if he lost one of these shoes. As some of you know, the Nail-Shu
is pretty
thick. For the last year and a half, I have been playing with various
combinations.

So, my plan is to go forward training barefoot, and using the Dallmer Clog
and glued on
NBS shoes or nailed on Mustad shoes when needed.

I tried the Easy boot Epic and the Boa. But, one of my criteria is that my
dressage horse had to go in
whatever boot I chose as well as the distance horse. And in Epics and in the
Boa he had too much flex
in his pasterns and could not move well in them. And, easyboots would just
fly off even following
Karen's detailed instructions. Of course, for the dressage horse, the easy
boot foam was not
a viable option.

I like the rolled toe and the ease of putting the boots on that the Dallmer
provides. I like the open
bottom when riding training or dressage. And, you can pad it for longer
rides if you want to. I like
the adjustable heel width too. I think this is one thing that makes it fit
really, really well. The limiting
factor on this is that I have to have a set of boots for each horse. One
size does not fit all once you have
adjusted the heel.

So, for whomever is interested, you can now find the Dallmers at
