[RC] Manure keeping water warm - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I was reading in Equus that someone cuts a bucket and places it
over the exposed faucet and pipe and fills it with manure to
keep the pipe from freezing. I know if I take the time to
keep my compost cooking in the winter it is so hot underneath
that I can't put my hand in it. I would think even just having
the insulation of the manure around the tank would help
considerably. I don't know the thickness you need but probably the thicker the
better (ok so that might be a "duh"). I don't
envy you having to carry the manure up the hill....
