[RC] FWD: Cross Country Cowboy Correction - John TeeterBy Request from Ray:) Date: Sun, 11 Dec 2005 11:31:01 -0800 (PST) From: Ray Piecuch <crosscountrycowboy@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [RC] Erroneous Reuters info To: John Teeter <johnt@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Dear John, ( Like that's never been written) To begin with, I was never arrested in Woodside, Ca that night. The local people were very friendly and helpful to Bo and me. At the time, I was looking for a place to rest Bo for a week or two, and some work I could do while he beefed up for the last 35 miles of our trip. If you people know horses, you would know that we didn't get across the entire nation if I didn't keep my horse sound. My best guess is that we covered 3800 miles in 355 days, all on our own feet. My horse ate when I didn't. I took first care of my horse in the classic tradition of all cowboys. And by the way, we started our adventure on the shores of Hampton Beach, N.H., within feet of the North Atlantic. We went exactly coast to coast . And for another point, when I got Bo back from the local Humane Society in Woodside, he was absolutely starving. They said that they were afraid he was going to colic, and were only giving him Equine Senior feed. That's like giving a working man only oatmeal to eat! The lady that led my fine road horse back to my care had her hands full that day. She could hardy keep him moving because he was starving and kept reaching for grass on the side of the road ! Well, when I got my buddy back I got him the highest protein sweet feed that I could get my hands on and the best alfalfa hay I could find, and he was happy again. Old Bo would commonly go through fifty pounds of sweet feed in three days, and one time, in Washington,Kansas, I watched him eat fifty pounds of cracked corn in two days, and he didn't colic. You make up your own mind, but I know what I saw.
