[RC] HEIDI'S BAREFOOT POST - Ridecamp Guest

I hope that clears up your misunderstanding--along with perhaps adding
that my definition of "light" use would probably cover most folks doing
LD-level riding or CTR. (It certainly covers arena disciplines--I've yet
to shoe a horse just to go to an arena event.)

Ahhhhhh, now I understand your perspective (since you consider CTR/LD "light").
You had no way of knowing, of course, how many miles I actually put on my
horse, or what kind of terrain I actually ride on, since the post was not
directed to me.

My original concern was (and is) that perhaps someone who was/is considering
competing in endurance barefoot would not even CONSIDER it a viable alternative
to shoeing, since you, with your vast experience, mentioned "barefoot" and
"pasture ornament" in the same comment.

Since I only do CTR (okay, I've done one LD), and since there's no way to
demonstrate some of the horrible terrain our trails in this area hold for you
and your horse (I live near Leatherwood, if that gives you any idea), I guess
I'll just slither back to my CTR corner. Thanks for your clarification.

And thank you, Truman, for your comment.
