[RC] Poop on the trails - Horizon Rider

I have been following the discussion with interest and wonder if perhaps we ought to consider the other
side of the issue. I respectfully suggest we need to listen to the mountain bikers, hikers, etc as they tend to
far outnumber and often tend to be better organized and therefore lobby more effectively. Here in Maine we
are allowed to ride the beaches but must clean up after ourselves, yes it is a pain in the arse but it beats being
banned from riding the beaches. Perhaps this is just one disgruntled rider, then again perhaps his message will
strike a chord with other riders and before we know it more trail will be lost. I sincerely hope not, and yes the
vast majority of the public has no idea of what horses do, are or can be. Even in rural areas of Maine youngsters
confuse cows and horses....times are a changing and will leave us behind if we think otherwise. Kind of like the
share the road idea we need to share the trails even if it means doing trail maintenance. JMHO. We can laugh now
but we may be crying soon.
