Re: [RC] Let's talk endurance goals for '06 - Linda S. Flemmer
I have had one too many horses go over & land
on me now, severely damaging my hips. While it is too painful to even get
in the saddle astride anymore, I've found that I CAN ride
SIDESADDLE.
My 11 year old gelding is certainly up for a 50,
but I'm not. Riding aside (sidesaddle) is using a whole 'nuther set of
muscles... I've got a good western sideaddle (antique Goodnight) that fits
him and me pretty darned well. I've managed to trail ride in the
sidesaddle this Fall on some rough mountain trails in WV and even stayed on
when we shied & ran from a bear. (PLEEEEAASE don't dump me,
Razz...)
My goals:
Get our LQ trailer this Spring (no more tent
camping)
Ride at least 2 LD's aside - to see how everything
works out aside

Good question. I for one am just starting to ride
again after 15 years of rest ( Dr orders no riding: now they say I can ride
again) I have 3 to see how they go I want to start slow so am watching all of
you to see what you are going to do. Carol IL
