[RC] Truman's right again. - rides2far@xxxxxxxx

recently learned that a rigging that would drive me crazy on my horse(deep
chest, very flat-sided) didn't bother me at all when on my buddy's round
barrel shaped horse. One would think the fatter horse >>>would make the
rigging more bothersome, not less. But,it was just the opposite. Some of this
stuff is just unquantifiable!

When I rode Bruce's horse with their saddle I started having trouble with the
rigging at about 25 miles. It was really bruising my inner thigh just above the
knee. Wasn't sure if it was the tights, the seam on the saddle cover or the
ring but it turned out to be the ring on the rigging. (I apologize to anyone
who had to witness me changing tights in the middle of the check. Hey, I
*tried* to use what cover there was but there's not much underbrush out
there!!!) I ended up moving my stirrups up one notch and NO more problem. It
was as if the rigging was no longer even there. It's weird that such a tiny
change would help so much but if you don't want to switch horses during a ride
and changing your tights in public doesn't help, it's something to try.
