[RC] bradford pear trees - Evelyn Allen/Patrick Allen

There are several varieties of the Bradford Pear. Some smell, some don't but I do agree that the ones that do smell are gaggy. I live in Chula Vista, CA and have them all over our complex. I have to almost hold me breath when I get out of my car to walk to my front door. The blossoms are beautiful though, and in the spring when their petals start to fall my walkways look like it has snowed big time. Fun shuffling your feet through all the fallen petals and pretending it has snowed while it is 75 degrees. Their leaves are really beautiful in the fall and the colors last quite awhile. They make lovely wreaths to hang on your door and watch them change colors.
