[RC] Tarweed - Penalope Kane

HAve a question:

History:
Been having problems getting weight on my gelding. Gave him two months off and
pumped him with grass hay, and oat hay no grain. Noticed the last week he
started to look like he was filling out. When I went to feed this morning I
noticed my horses back legs were very swollen. Had the vet out. Confirmed
that my horse did not have a fever and gave him a diuretic. Am suppose to give
him bute for a few days. His manure has been very hydrated lately. He is on
pasture which has alot of Tar Weed in it.

Question:
What can I do to eliminate the tarweed?
What can I do to help his gut?
Suppose he has been eating this stuff for a while, would this effect his
performance?

Any advice is welcome.
Penelope
