[RC] New farm help - Kari Hanes

I'm thinking of hiring one of my older 4-H teens to come in on the weekends and do some work. She wants to get involved with arabs (currently has AQHA) and try endurance next summer. What is the going rate for barn help? I was thinking around $8 an hour, about 4 hours each Saturday. She would be cleaning/bedding stalls, halter breaking youngers and helping me start my 5 year old.

I've already contacted insurance co and I am covered for this type of arrangement. She is going to Findlay next year and this would be a chance for her to broaden her horse knowledge in a different venue than the show circuit. Any ideas/feedback?

Thanks,
Kari
