My 1st experience with GL was at NAEC this past month. We started dosing the
horse in the final 2 vet checks of the 100. The rider reported an increase in
energy put out by the horse. He was dosed q 1hr after the initial dosing.
Finished top 10.
Question, how long do you support the horse with the GL after competition? Is
it stopped abruptly or do you keep up through the night with decreasing doses
and times between doses? >

You're not trying to restore the body's energy components here, just bounce the
blood glucose up enough to give the body confidence that more is coming and
it's safe to rebuild rather than tear down. So, a dose immediately, another in
a couples hours, maybe, and by then the horse should be back into its normal
grain ration. The same technique can, and probably should be used after a hard
workout. It's a cheap solution to what could become a big problem. Again,
during this critical period, use no other feedstuffs that could compromise the
digestion and use of the carbs.
