Grand Prix Jumping, Eventing, Dressage, Cutting, Reining, barrel racing, flat-track race horses...all have the potential of win lots of money.  There isn't the potential to win a $100,000 purse in an endurance race.  Therefore, the horses that can excel in these sports demand a higher price than an equally talented and well-bred endurance horse.
