[RC] hot shoeing - Ranelle Rubin

My farrier hot shoes, but does not ever burn the soles of the hoof, he does
it to roll the toes of the front shoes and square the toes of the back
shoes. I think after having about 10 farriers in all my years of living in
different locations, farriers retiring, etc I know have the best I have
seen. He is full and is not taking any new clients. It took me 6 months of
calling monthly just to get in with him. He tells me everything he is doing
and why and ALWAYS asks how the horse is going. One thing I do, is save the
shoes each time, tying them together and keeping them in my trailer until
the next shoeing. That way if I am at a ride and my horse looses a shoe, or
really stuck to replace a lost shoe, it is pretty quick for a farrier to do
minimal modification and put a shoe on that fits and is worn in.
