[RC] 2006 National Championships in Fort Valley - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Mary Kornwolf mkornwolf@xxxxxxxxxxxx or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== I had the pleasure of "test riding" the test course for next year's 50 mile National Championships this past wekend at the Fort Valley Saturday 50 mile ride on October 22nd. The course is well laid out, with enough dirt roads where you can make time but also enough rocks (and views!) to give the full flavor of Virginia's mountains. I went as fast as I could and it still took Shiloh and me well over 7 hours, including 1 hr, 40 mins total hold time. After having attended the North American Endurance Championships the previous weekend, I was very impressed by how very horses and riders from distant parts of our nation fared, and encourage all of you out there who are able to begin making plans for next fall. Make sure your horses are well shod to endure those rocks!
