[RC] NAEC question - Amy Cieri

I'm not an FEI rider, just your regular "backyard competitor." I have a question to those familiar with the selection process for the regions.
Is it the same across the board or does every region do it's own thing? I was disappointed and delighted, if that's possible, that Jayel Super took the off continent Gold. Super is an east coast horse that didn't make our team because of POINTS. He placed low on our alternate list and most likely wouldn't have competed with Stagg so he was respectfully withdrawn and given to Dom from England to compete.
Darn it if he didn't take the whole thing!!! I was in awe watching Super flying across the finish but sad that Stagg wasn't on him riding for the EAST. It makes me wonder about our point system and what other region do to select the best horses for the job.
Please no flaming, it's only an observation from a lowly NAEC volunteer.
Congratulation to every rider selected to compete and most especially to Dominique for doing a super job with a horse who truly lives up to his name.
