Re: [RC] wide horse/wide saddles - Barbara McCrary

I love my Arabian Saddle Co. Sylvan GP.  It has less of a dressage leg position, which is why I chose it, after trying a Solstice.  Only drawback with the Sylvan is lack of D-rings, but that has not been a problem for me.  It has a wide tree and it is just a great saddle.  My niece has a lightly used one, wide tree, 18" seat, (too wide for her horse) if someone is interested.

I had great luck with fit on my wide back horse with the Arabian Saddle Company Solstice. It had a tad more of a dressage leg position than I was used to, so it did not work for me, but worked for the horse great.  The panels cover more surface area than many English saddles, so it distributes the riders weight well, which is nice for riders who like me, are not "lightweights". You can find them used for under $1000. Great quality saddles. Contact Beverly Grey, and see if she knows of any used ones available.
