[RC] Field Trialer's stake-out rig - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

There just isn't anything as good,IF: you have lots of open ground for
everybody. At a field trial,you look out over the camping/trailer area and see
about 50 horses staked out that way,grazing,rolling,sleeping,lying down,etc.It
is a peaceful sight.If you were to make a pro-con chart with all the different
methods,the stake-out rig comes out ahead in nearly every category.I have never
seen a horse that didn't settle down immediately when first put on it.I can't
begin to type the description out again,but like anyhthing else,you'll see them
both well rigged and poorly rigged.I use 12'cable inside a very heavy
hose,swivels at both ends,a truck axle as the pin,and an old brake rotor on the
ground for the big oval ring that the cable is hooked onto to be sure the ring
spins freely.Water goes at the outside of the circle.Hay you must flake up and
scatter along the outside of the circle.A horse CANNOT get the pin out of the
ground,and if it is well made he CANNOT injure himself.I'd stake my horse along
a busy highway if I had to,with no worries,and I am the kind of person who
worries about his animals.I do not pull out from home without it!
