Re: [RC] Ariat Terrains - Sizing - Barbara McCrary

For a riding boot that I can hike in, should I need to lead my horse, I prefer the Ariat Performers. They are much more sturdy, don't stretch like the Terrains, and have a nice arch support.

Hi Kristen,

I'm not sure if you need 1/2 size smaller in length, but the Ariat Terrains certainly do run wide.  I have always thought I has a wide foot, but my Terrains are so wide I feel like I'm wearing clown shoes.  They also seem to hang up in my stirrups.  I sure liked the concept of a boot I could also hike in, but I had to give up on the Terrains.

Schneiders has the Ariat Terrains on sale right now for $70. I usually wear an 8.5 but have heard the Terrains run wide - for those who have had them would you recommend getting a 1/2 size smaller than usual?
