[RC] Stoneybrook Lyric - Amy CieriDamn Steph, it really hurts to hear this. I'm so sorry for your loss of Lyric. He was so special.
For those that didn't know Lyric, he was a very tough, put together horse. He did everything, flat and fast, all the way up to the beast of the east, the Old Dominion 100.
Stephanie never has crew, she and Lyric never seemed to need any help anyway. While everybody is doing the frantic water toss in a hold, Steph and Lyric would have a well worn blanket tossed over his back or if it was a hot ride, they would just as is, amble on in to the vets.
One of my friends who was new to the sport asked Steph, "Why don't you put water on him?" Sheph's reply was a confident, "he doesn't need all that s---".
Lyric was companion to Silver Aparirion's 1st 50. Steph and I complained, without complaining, about our numerous hurts that day (unmentionables) and had a wonderful ride rating spooks from 1-10, 10 being the worst. All you nurses will understand.
Lyric and Steph were partners in every sense of the word. I too will miss him Steph and send good thoughts your way. He is over the rainbow bridge just waiting for the person who knew him best.
I miss you and I'm so sorry.
