[RC] cougars attacking horseback riders - Dawn Simas

<<Have there been any cat attacks on mounted riders?  I do know hikers and bicyclists have been attacked, but ever a horseback rider?>>

Yes, on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, they have jumped people on horseback, riding in a group.

Everyone is fair game.  Especially in these areas where the exposure to humans is the most dense.  The cats are desensitized and are losing their fear of us.  However, you have much more chance of being hit by lightning or killed by a domestic dog.  So, don't ride in fear.  Just be aware as was said in an earlier post.  "Ride Defensively" and be prepared.  Then you can relax and enjoy your ride.  :)
