Oh Ed....I am so sorry.  I DO know how you are feeling too.  I had to put my horse to sleep 5 years ago from a broken hip that I had ridden over 5000 miles.   If you don't have this item now, maybe you can get one.  I have a piece of Booy's tail hair braided.  It is the only part of him that I still have.  Wish that there was more that I could do or say, but I am afraid there is nothing that can take his place.  We are ALL going to miss him on the trail.

I am just glad that I had these few years with him, but of course, regret that there will be no more.   He always did everything I asked of him, and he finished every ride he ever started.  From the palmetto swamps of Central Florida to the High Sierras of the Tevis Trail, he did it all.
