[RC] Long distance RATs (ride and ties) - Steve Shaw

Kat is entirely right. We timed it out and the horse was tied standing for about 10-15 minutes every tie. Also note that he was trotted the entire way (of course with many walks up and down the steep hills) just like in a 100 mile ride.
In each vet check the rider came in much ahead, but I always saw him for awhile. I think that each vet check the horse was there for at least 45 minutes and once even longer, though the rules said that we could leave any time. The vet criteria for the horse clearing the vet check was ALWAYS the same as the endurance ride. 60 pulse, etc.
What Fun!
Steve Shaw
