It is often common for those new to the sport,
who "race" right off the batin LD rides,
to find later, that was probably not the
best thing they couldhave done for their
horses future in the sport of endurance.

Boy, I wished someone would have told me this
when I first started with an outstanding talented
FAST mare 14 years ago. I didn't know anything
about endurance riding. I took this mare out as a
5 year old and raced her. Winning LD's, I had
a blast she was so fast and so fun to ride. To
make a long story short she never was able to compete
to her ability because I ruined her. I blew out
her suspensories. I still have her, she is 19
and still fast and fun to ride, but she has long
been 'retired' from endurance. Patty
