[RC] Finding Heart Rate with Touch - Steve Elliot \(Equine Performance\)

-..>> its unusual to be able to feel the horse's heartbeat at the spot you'd
= place a stethoscope if you were using one, or is this an indication of =
some problem?

Kathy

Kathy, feeling the heart rate by human touch near the heart has been
in standard for many years, and about 5 other places on the horse.
Usually at resting this is hard to pick up depends on the horse.

I don't know where your horse exercise was when you detected this. You
can compare this with a stet scope or a heart monitor.

At some events I can't even and many people can't feel or hear the heart
rate on some animals, that's why the hand held monitor was developed.

Last Years Tevis my horse got spooked by a Bear and broke out down the road
he came back but his heart by visualization was looking like it was going to
come right out of his body.
