thanks Heidi. As a small farm that produces one or two foals a year, they HAVE to be good ones. If one turns out badly, then we've lost a year's worth of work. We can't just "cull" it to the sale barn or some other fate and make our money on a dozen others. Each foal born here matters. Thus their dams and sire matter and are cared for well.
