[RC] big horn saddles and "chair seat" - Tracey Smith

I also ride a big horn endurance saddle...basically same as Jonni's as it is
older model and I did for a while have a problem with "chair seat" and even
some back soreness on my mare.

My "chair seat" was caused by not keeping my legs under me enough when I
ride...partly pure lazieness on my part...and with some help from a friend
knowledgeable in dressage I was able to "retrain" myself as to how I sit.

The back problems were from poorly fitting pads...finally found the combo
that works for me and no sore backs since. I mainly use my Toklat coolback
endurance style pad but also do well with a "tacky tack" pad, especially for
hilly terrain. I just don't use the tacky tack too much in hot weather as
even though it is not supposed to...I feel it holds in some heat.

I love my old big horn and will not trade it for the world. It's about to
hit the shop this week for some maintainence and grommet replacements but
has served me and my horse well so far and it's comfy.
