Hi Laurie: Most waxed/lined shipping bags have micro perforations to allow for air circulation. Opening the container daily exposes the surface feed to air, not throughout the feed.  There is no venting in a container such as a freezer. The lower the temp. and drier the air is preferable over warm and humid of course.  Bruce
