Re: [RC] Local Story on Karen Chaton:) - Ericka Nelson

John,
Thanks for sharing this story. I think everybody loves it when the local
newspapers celebrate endurance riders and horses.
Since so many of Karen's miles were from multi-days, I have a question for
her and others who ride multi-days.
Ride season is coming up. I love both the Wild West Ride put on by the
Ribleys and Cold Springs hosted by the Nicholsons.
BUT!!! This year there is only eight days between both rides. What do all
you multi-day riders think about doing these rides back to back?
Thanks,
Ericka

Just riding along: Chaton wins endurance title
by Joey Crandall

Ruhenstroth resident Karen Chaton and her horse Granite Chief very quietly
brought home a national championship at the close of the year.

The duo won the American Endurance Ride Conference total mileage title
much in the same way they'd competed throughout the last several years -
with steady and composed dedication week in and week out.

Granite Chief accumulated 2,135 miles over the course of 2004, completing
all 41 rides that he was entered in. Rides in the AERC must be at least 50
miles in length.
