A few years ago at the Old Dominion pre-ride meeting, Matthew Mackay-Smith referred to the 50 as half a ride. Some folks really got their panties in a wad over that comment. LOL

I think that Matthew and Joe are right. In the grand scheme of endurance, a 50 miler is half a ride.
