Naturally gaited? Does it exist or do you have to put gadgets on them to get them to do the smooth gaits. Yrs ago rode a TWH bareback and no gadgets and could not believe how smooth. I am considering moving to TWH, retirement is not far off. Seems they have more athletic ability for endurance than some other nonArab breeds. I am speaking in general terms so qtr horse owners who do endurance don't get hot under the collar. It also seems the TWH has a calmer disposition than the Arabs.

Ha........ my mare didn't get the name "horse from hell" for her calm disposition. But hey I like em hot.

There are some calm TWH's and some calm Arabs. The big difference I've found is how the non-calm ones tend to act. The non-calm TWH will react by pulling your arms off running hell bent for leather chasing the horse in front. The non-calm Arab will jump from one side of the trail to the other getting away from all the spooks. I perfer to have to life weights to hold back the runaway than to worry about burnt logs, frogs, etc.

Truman

This also is a generalization of MINE so don't get out your flaming tools. Am just wanting info. about TWHs and endurance. mas
