<<My sister ran across these. . .wants something more secure (and not too
expensive) when starting them out on the trail. Has anyone tried one of these?
What do you think?>>

I ride in one! I searched high and low for a secure saddle for my newly
purchased arab mare last year (she can spin out from under you in a blink of an
eye). So far I've logged in 250 plus AERC (LD) miles in it and felt very secure
in it. It has a higher pommel than most endurance saddles which enables you to
grip a little more. The 5" cantle also puts you deep into the seat - another
plus - and the stirrup leathers are placed well for a more balance seat. It is
a tad heavy though - 22 lbs.
