Re: [RC] [RC] Fw: health passport - Laney Humphrey

California vets deserve extra duty pay if they have to deal with the state Vet's office very much. I could never find an appropriate email address so I tried calling. Got switched from one person to another and finally ended up at a voice mailbox - grrrrr. I'll probably never get a response. Good luck and best wishes to those of you willing to tackle this. It would sure be great if such a passport could be developed.

I'll let you know if I do get a response

I'll bet this situation will turn out to be similar to the southeast where Florida (i.e. Montana) issues the permits & the other states honor them. I'm going to email the CA dept. and query.

The following is from the Montana Department of Livestock website regarding the 6-month health passport and it says that California is part of it.

"Designed for the frequent equine travelers, this certificate, form SV-7HP, allows owners or trainers to travel continuously with a horse to participating states for an extended period of time. This certificate is good only for the following participating states; Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California and Nevada. Any travel to other states requires a standard 30-day CVI, form SV-7, and must meet that state’s import requirements. Not valid for travel into Canada or any other foreign countries."
