It was particularly upsetting because I have personally pounded those wooden stakes into that rocky ground and attached the flashers with temperatures over 100 degrees. Last year 20 flashers were stolen. Sigh! Anyhow, thanks to everyone. Cindy One concern I had before the ride was that as it has been a while since I last rode it, that it might not live up to my memories. I needn't have worried -- it is a fabulous trail, spectacular scenery, and the Big Horn 100 remains my favorite trail of all. I had intended to start Sanshra on an easier 100, but that didn't work out so the Big Horn was his first 100 mile ride (talk about pushing someone off a dock). He was fantastic -- what a great feeling to have a 100 mile horse again! The remote location and low population in the area means that this ride is kept alive by a small group of very dedicated people.
