[RC] re: horse tricks --trail markings - Ridecamp GuestPlease Reply to: Teresa Van Hove vanhove@tvanhove@direcway.com or ridecamp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ========================================== ROFL imagining you trying to get through some of our VERY well marked rides w/o going over time on this horse if he stops and looks for a reward at every trail marking. --Coalfax, and Black Hills might be pretty hard for ya. --Well maybe Black Hills would be ok since the markings are mostly painted fiberglass poles so they might not trigger him putting his nose on each one. Cheers, Teresa Van Hove (Mountian Region) ps -- I love our well to very well-marked trails (thanks RM's) pps -- Grey has always pretty good at spotting ribbons and remember the correct trails from year's past even though his only reward is not covering extra miles. I taught Shatirr to point at trail signs, marking ribbons and flour arrows after I got lost on a ride... I showed him the target (ribbon, sign or flour marker), asked him "put your nose on it" or "touch it" and rewarded him pith a carrot piece.
