RE: [RC] [RC] Retrofitting Epics (or "Fun with EZ Boots") - Lucy Chaplin Trumbull

Many thanks to those who answered my questions
about retrofitting EZ boots with gaiters. Armed
with nothing more than a screwdriver, I was able
to cook supper *and* retrofit my EZ boot at the
same time and only overcooked the potatoes a little. :)

Things I found out:

* The four [longer] golden nuts that are supplied with
  the new gaiter are to replace the slightly shorter
  golden nuts that fasten the *heel strap* on a standard
  boot (note, the *front* golden nuts that hold on the
  wire are already the longer versions)
* Eric Drew's method of attaching the gaiter each side
  at the front wire-holding screws and then rotate the
  gaiter down to attach the back strap-holding screws
  works really well.
