[RC] Stick and Level - Soli Sorokin

Years ago I knew a man who handmade really nice, durable, solid wood
stick and levels with which to measure horses accurately. I'd really
like to find something similar again - does anyone out there make
these or know someone who does?

The one I remember he made had a substantial stick that was much
thicker than a typical yardstick - very solid with clearly notated
inch marks as well as hand marks. It had a very solid level on the
bottom and a sliding level that you would raise up and lower down onto
the horse's withers to get the height. His measured up to 17 or 18
hands, if I recall, and was durable enough to last a lifetime.

Mine apparently grew legs and "walked" out of the trailer one day, and
it's been long enough that it hasn't reappeared that I can be pretty
sure it's not going to. Would like to find a replacement, if possible.

Thanks,
~S
