[RC] Shin splints - one more thing - victoria thompson

Everything being said so far is right on the mark (especially the shoe thing), but one more thing should be added. My shin splints never acted up until I was at least half way into a good run. To relieve the pain, but still be able to finish the workout, slow down a tad and SHORTEN YOUR STRIDE. Going from a jog to a power walk isn't the same thing. I was able to relieve the pain from power walking by jogging! The key is going slower and shortening the stride (power walking still requires a long stride).

But, hey, I haven't jogged in 10 years now. What do I know?

Tori
