[RC] Virus Attacks - Michael Maul

Apparently AERC has finally come to the notice of the virus writers.

If you get a message from register@xxxxxxxx

signed

Your Aerc Support Team!

with a subject of

Subject: Your new account password is approved
or
Subject: Your account information has been updated

with an attached file - just DELETE the message.

It's a virus and your anti-virus s/w should also catch it.

There are a number of legitimate emails that do come from AERC but those are from sqlmail@xxxxxxxx and are the notifications that you have requested from your members page.

There is no new virus here - it's an old one that has been around for a while and it's just has a "new" package in the form of "From the Aerc Support Team".

You do NOT need to pass this notice on.

Mike
