[RC] New Shoes at White River Summer!! - Kari HanesWell my farrier finally talked me into shoeing. I was pretty skeptical - he wouldn't even let me pay for them! Said if I wasn't happy with them he would come back and take them off after the ride.So we went for our first LD with shoes last weekend. What a difference! I know my mare is conditioned well but I never expected such fast recoveries with the weather being what it was. In the heat and humidity I expected a long slow ride with an extended period for pulsing down. We came into the vet check both times pulsed down. We even placed! The ride was great and I had a wonderful time riding with Jean and giggling at her antics! Our mares had a little attitude going between them, they are both "the queen" at home but they paced great together. Jean, I mean it, don't show my daughter that reins in the teeth-flying like an eagle move! I'm sure her equestrian team coach would frown on that! So now we're looking forward to Hopkin's Creek this weekend - see you there Jean! Happy Trails!
