[RC] Horse for Tevis? (long shot) - Sharlene Roberts-Caudle

Well, just on the chance there is a horse out there
who wants to do the Tevis Cup ride but doesn't have a
rider--I'm on the list but the snaps on my horse's new
blanket broke--it tangled around his legs and he ran
around with it like that a bit. The vet diagnosed the
subtle lameness in his near hind as coming from the
hip--probably pulled muscle or something, so he's
doing pasture rest for 6 months.

If anyone has a suitable horse I would appreciate the
chance to do this ride to no end. I've had it in my
mind since highschool (1975) when I saw the article in
Western Horseman.

I live near Exeter, California, in the rangeland
foothills. I have not ridden the Western States Trail
before, Eagle and I finished the Lake Oroville Ride
and Saturday and Monday of the Cuyama XP (we didn't
enter for Sunday). I've done a lot of research and
study to educate myself over the last 2 years about
endurance horse issues. Perhaps you are entered in
this ride and would like someone to ride your other
horse with you? I would agree to any conditions. If
you want to know anything about me, or talk with me, I
can be reached at 559 539 6810; or 559 799 2443.

I know it's a longshot--my husband has been
encouraging me to explore all options before I pull my
entry.

I'll be there in any case--cheering everyone on!
